Thursday July 22 Guangzhou to Nanjing

After a nice breakfast in the coffee shop during which we are seated amongst many families with their newly adopted babes and youngsters, we learn that our flight has been delayed for several hours so we opt to stay at the hotel versus wait at the airport for a lengthy time. Anna and I stay in the room so that I can catch up on my journal while Richard and Gail go off to the market to take a look around. Once at the airport, we find that the Vertizes have not yet left as their flight was delayed also while our flight has been delayed even more. We buy some lychee nuts for 61 yuan and share them with the Vertizes. Then we wait for our flight by reading, journaling, and resting. By the time we get to Nanjing and are met by our guide Susan and our bus driver with a van, it's dark and it takes us about an hour to get to the hotel where we check in and get ready for our big day tomorrow.
